if anyone is having the following issues it down to a memory leak in leopard that has now been sorted out with the new update.

Ok so upgrading to the newest OS within the first few weeks of release isn't always the best idea but I didn't think it would effect SL like it has anyhow. Here are the issues.

iMac 20" White with iSight
2.16ghz Intel Core Duo 2
2.5gb DDR2 ram

SL Lastest Release as of 12/11/2007

My main issue is while teleporting into different areas of SL my graphics and everything are fine but the whole of SL seems to act very juddery, a good example is teleporting into help island where a lot of people go, though I have even noticed this on the new help island 2 where i will teleport in and not be able to do to much unless i zoom in on something or move away from areas of high details (lots of prims).

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if they sorted out what is causing the problems.

I ams also running the client on 32mb of ram from my graphics card and lowered a lot of the graphics.

Once i change over to windows i can run the graphics on full and use all 128mb of ram on the graphics card without any issues at all. I know this is an operating / sl conflict as before on the previous version (tiger) i never had these issues and could run the graphics on full like i can on windows.

Just wondering if anyone else has any ideas, I am still going to mess around with the graphics and software running etc to see what is causes the problems.

Fizz,

Do you have your video ram running at full? I had similar problems when i was running other programs alongside SL (except if they were in a different space). Some others around here reported similar things.

Long answer short... turn down your video RAM in preferences. Should help.

Honestly... I see no difference at all. Since upgrading to Leopard, my performance has sucked. Anyplace remotely laggy, and I'm doomed. It's just slower than snot and really almost painful at times.

:) thanks for the replys,

anyhow, i have my graphics ram set to 32mbs instead of 128. I think I have narrowed it down to maybe some sort of memory leak.

It's probably a problem that the labs aren't going to address anytime soon so ill just put up with it, i don't play to much anyhow just trying to find out the cause.
