Is anyone else still experiencing texture blurring. It's so bad for me that sometimes people are invisible to me, until they go into the appearance menu then they appear! Very weird. Also, the texture will load for me and then derezz a few minutes later. It's even worse when I try to change clothes. My entire body is gray for a very long time after I change anything I'm wearing.

YES! Someone else is seeing partially invisible people!
I went shopping earlier today, in a sim I had never visited before. The textures in the store I visited took a while to load, but eventually did.
However... I observed one Avatar walking around of whom I could only see their hair, socks and shoes! And those were plain grey, untextured. Yet from the conversation they were having with a third Avatar that was helping them to fit that hair, the invisible one and their friend could see the invisible one just fine!
I also watched a name title walk by, for someone who hadn't rezzed in at all other than their title and name.
This lasted the entire time I was in that store, and I took my time shopping, visiting both floors of a rather large hair and skin store. Maybe half an hour of real time. In that time my own Avatar's textures also kept fading back to grey and reloading. It was terribly frustrating.
I'm on a Mac Mini, with the standard video card in it (an ATI Radeon 9200 with 32MB DDR video memory), running Mac OS 10.3.9 and SL 1.7.1(2).

hmm, interesting your specs are almost the same as mine. I'm wondering if it's because our video memory is low. 32 vram might not be enough anymore.

From: Jessant Sion 32 vram might not be enough anymore. I certainly hope you are wrong there. Because if that's the case, then I would have to quit SL for the forseeable future. You can't upgrade the video card in a Mac Mini, and certainly I can't afford to buy a new computer just so I can play here. I had a hard enough time setting aside the funds to buy my Mac Mini. Besides, I have seen posts from people who claim to have the best video card available on the market, and they are also having issues with texture caching!

...a quick and easy solution...

...if you're seeing truly invisible avatars, not just grey/transparent rezzing-up avatars but rather absolutely nothing save prim jewelry, shoes, and such floating in the air, there's a very simple fix - just change your own active group, try 'none' or really any other group of which you're a member...
...yes, it's a totally bizzarre connection, but it works like magic!..
