I was having problems before this update and I'm still having issues where I'll be on for about a minute before it'll freeze and I'll do a force-quit. I haven't been able to walk, but can rotate. I peered at the client update announcement and noticed many people have been having problems, but I was wondering if I could have a confirmation that it's happening to other mac users. My experience with SL used to be "okay" bug-wise. I attributed the previous version experience to packet loss, but I think the crashes go beyond this.

This is also happening to me (dual core Intel iMac). I've been in SL since 2005 and could count on one hand the number of times I needed to use force-quit. Since this last update I've been having to force-quit up to 3 times per session.

Re: the problem of having crashed but not realising (as you can still rotate): The only suggestion I have to know that you've crashed is keep the mini-map open -- if the land in the map goes red then you know you've crashed. Very helpful if you're sitting chatting or building.

I've been sending in bug reports but not getting any email responses. Anyone know why?

I got this a lot with 1.13.2 as well, not only (12). It's really annoying, during the first hour I was online after 1.13.2, I counted this happening to me 6-7 times.

SAME ISSUE ON PC's?

There's a thread in the PC Tech Support forum similar to this.
PC users report a "30 second" pause in game...
If you wait it out, you start moving again.

I've seen this on my MAC and added to the Tech Forum.
I'm seeing it happen, maybe once per hour or two.

(my THEORY or is it SUPERSTITION, is that the local cache is filled and then you are 'paused' while it is cleaned of the oldest things in order to make room for the new. But, as I say, its my personal logic for explaining it, and has nothing to do with SL-Reality.) :D
