I hope this is the right forum for this - I'm crossposting on technical support also.
I'm on a G4 powerbook and have been using SL with adequate, not spectacular, results for a month.
At work firewall issues (I think) have meant that I get lagged out (I learnt that term on the wiki!) but this has never been a problem at home until now. Now after a few mins or sometimes even a few seconds something disconnects between me and the SL servers. If I'm in motion I continue indefinately in the same direction whether this is through walls or water. Otherwise my avatar just freezes or tps do not complete.
I've tried resetting cache size, but can't think what else to try.Any advice much appreciated.
OKAY - I'VE RESET BANDWIDTH AND THIS HAS HELPED.

Thanks!

Check your video driver

I'm running a 1.8GHz G5, 3gig ram, with fast cable connections and a new high end ati video card. I started experiencing huge laggy problems after the latest big SL upgrade. Then I downloaded the latest video driver and it made all the difference in the world for performance. Now I'm purring along pretty good. check your video driver to make sure you've got the latest. (Now if I can just find files buried in folders with this damn new inventory scheme, what a disaster that is!)

No changes to the bandwidth settings help at all on my iMac (intel based).
There are no graphics drivers to install.
And yes, the inventory problem is so bad I had to stop playing the game until it is fixed. I am upset to say the least.
