I am on a Mac running 10.3.9 and of coarse as you know already, I am not in Second Life. The bulletin if you have not seen it... /255/45/108903/1.htmlBut what I am curious about is...are any Mac people back in? They keep talking about 10.3.9 but is anyone above that, 10.4.x Tiger, able to log on?

I was in this early morning (Europa) and last evening.. am on a new IntelMac.
So far no problem. I only downloaded the new client and then open the aplication...
I dident do any special more than I took a look at al preferncess - redid some - and have a boost at the fps.
In beatifull Otherland sims I have up to 28-30 - Plus at a top of one moutain - alone in the sim I had a lot more than that.. . in Dreamland I had up to 20-22 - compared with up to 7 (always that In a corner of Geneva) -12-15 before..

I should have made myself clearer...I am not clinging to 10.3.9. I would be happy to move to another OS.
Neither one of you mentioned what version of OS you are using.

Thanks, you guys after seeing your post i went online and looked at getting Tiger. Small confusion, the online catalogs are offering two different versions, 10.4.3 and 10.4.6.
I see that you both said 10.4.6 and I assume that you are both on Intel based Macs.
Does it matter which version I get? Go for the latest? Or is 10.4.6 only for the Intel Macs and only binary? Or should I head to 10.4.3 territory? I still have alot of other software mostly Adobe that is not binary, yet. Am I confused? Likely...
I need my Second Life...

Hi Loydin! I believe that 10.4.6 is a free upgrade, available from Apple. There's more information about it here. I'm going to get whatever is available at the store tomorrow morning, and upgrade to 10.4.6. (I was thinking about moving up to Tiger eventually, but I'd rather not have done it right now. However, since I have a lot of work to do in SL with a business to run and deadlines to meet, I don't really have a choice. Sigh.)

Works for me

SL is working fine for me after the upgrade and my hardware is way below spec(733 mhz, a 32 mgb graphics card). I'm on 10.4.6.
Loydin - buy any version of Tiger 10.4 as all the upgrades are free downloads using system update.

From: Super Barbecue Im gutted I just cant get Tiger to run on my iMac. It installs fine but just wont start up for some reason, Ive tried everything. Im back on Panther now. grr. I had the same problem - just upgraded from 10.3.9 to the Tiger CD that came with my system a year ago. (There are a couple things I liked better about Panther, and a friend of mine had horrible problems going from Panther to Tiger, so I put it off.) I ran the upgrade a second time, and I could log in. However, the login takes forever compared to Panther, and it seemed to reboot in the middle of the login after I downloaded and upgraded to 10.4.6. From: Rob Danton (MacBookPro, 2.16ghz, 2gb RAM, OS X 10.4.6) Working great. beautiful water ripples and I'm very happy I want to know why I lost my water! G5 Dual 2.0ghz, 4.5gb RAM, ~100 GB free harddrive space, OS X 10.4.6, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro with 256 MB, 17 inch Apple LCD. And I have a much lower spec Powerbook that does have water as an option! Edited: I started randomly turning settings on and off and such in Preferences - and now I get water again. It was not working last night, nor this morning, but now it suddenly is.
