Avatar rendering options now greyed out ?

I just noticed recently when checking settings that I can now only set avatar rendering' to 'Normal', as the other two settings of 'Bump Mapped' and Bump Mapped and Cloth' are both greyed out, as is the checkbox for 'Avatar Vertex Program'

Now this didn't used to be the case, it seems to have been disabled by a recent SL update.

I'm using an ATI X800XT 256Mb AGP graphics card in a dual 2.5 G5 Power Mac tower, and up to date with latest version of Tiger

Any idea what the problem is, or is anyone else seeing this ?

yes, it cant be done with the new eingine options because of some prob lems with opengl in OSX. the Vertex program is wht cant be done, it must be enabled for the other 2 options to appear. yes this is since the last major upgrade that changed some graphic rendering options. From what Ive read the Lindens cant fix it til some changes are made in the OpenGL system on OSX, which is rumored to be in process

Ah, thanks Missy for the reply, all is made clear now, I wondered if it might be something of that nature, not a lot to be done but wait I guess......
