Such a system is not built, You can choose either 2.26GHz with 2GB Ram or 2.53GHz with 4GB Ram. I personally wouldn't run it on the 2.26 system. Yes it works, but not very well IMHO, as the the system maybe slow with SL. The 2.53 system will give better performance more due to the memory than anything else.
Graphics on both systems would be adequate, but not outstanding. The spec you stated is probably for an outdated system, and certainly not for the current range. _____________________

Your right, I was thinking of the MBP.
I didnt have much fun with the older white MB and SL, but that was some time ago. _____________________

I use the unibody MacBook 13 as my second SL machine, and it is only so-so running Second Life on the Mac Side, but does quite well on the PC side. Running Second Life under Windows 7 64, I can crank up pretty much everything, even 4x antialias and still feel comfy moving about. I'd put PC performance of the 9400M at about the same level as a 8600GT. On the Mac side, the 9400 blows away the 8600, if for no other reason that the 8600 has never behaved well for SL on the Mac side.
I don't know how the new Macbook Pro's with the 9600 behave with SL. I'd stick with 10.5.8 on whatever Mac you use... 10.6 has some graphics bugs yet with Second Life. |

i use a 2008-generation 13" MacBook (Mac OS X 10.5.8, 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.5 GB DDR2 SDRAM), often with a second monitor attached. the Emerald SL viewer, with graphics turned down a bit, appears to run fairly quickly with only it and the SeaMonkey browser running (several tabs open). Frame-rate stays up in the double-digits.
so it is possible to have a good SL experience on such a low-end machine. of course, your mileage may vary. |

I'm running a Nov. 08 13" aluminum Macbook (2.0GHz. Intel Core Duo, 4 GB ram, Nvidia 9400) and count the choice of extra memory as the best decision I made when ordering. I've been running with the Snowglobe viewer since July, and with that combo, I'm quite happy with the results I get on SL. Just ordered Snow Leopard after hearing all good reports from friends running SL on macs.
