so i just started using SL on my MacBook Air. i was excited to start, but as soon as the game opened up, i noticed that everything was grey and blocky. i tried adjusting the graphics, but that just made it run slowly without fixing the graphics. do i just have poor grapics on this computer, or is this something technical?
forgive me, i'm new and not quite sure.

Which model? The first Macbook Air was basically a stripped down plain old Macbook in a slimmer shell. It's got an Intel graphics chip, which isn't quite as debilitation on OS X as on Windows (because it's got better native OpenGL support) but it's not a good choice for a graphics-intensive program.

Honestly, i don't know. Its not actually mine. my old laptop died so i was given this by a friend. i believe it's only a year or so old. so probably the original.

a lot of gray could also be a network issue... maybe a slow connection?

if you want ot find out what laptop it is, click the Apple menu at the top left, and choose "About this Mac" and hit "More Info..."

Te first page up will tell you all the main info which you can research on the web... (mainly model identifier)

if you just want to see what graphics card is in it, look under the Graphics/Displays section for the Video Card.
