No Sound

I've not had any sound out of SL for awhile now. I'm not sure when it stopped. My sound is found elsewhere on my Mac, just silent in SL.

I do have an 8600 graphics card so I am running with the Open GL Profiler hack. I've tried both the Nicholaz version and the stock Linden Lab version.

And yes, I've checked my sound volume settins, they are not muted.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you checked in your Preferences under AUDIO/VIDEO? The Mute Audio option might be checked.

Sadly, that was one of the first things I checked.

And I noticed something else last night. Voice chat works, I hear it. I just don't hear anything else.

What happens when you go to a sim that's running audio (i.e. a music stream)? Do you get the bottom-screen icon indication that the music is there? What happens when you fiddle with that volume slider in the viewer?

Yes, I do see the slider and fiddling with it just leaves me silent, no sound. No music, no ambient, no UI sounds. Only Voice Chat. Very puzzling.
