Is there a good way to disable the Mac's cmd-H (Hide) and cmd-M (Minimize) menu shortcuts when running SL in window mode? My heart skips a beat every time I try to pull up the Map and SL vanishes into the dock...

Yes, I've asked for them to remove these shortcuts too !
But there is a simple way to do it yourself if you have developer tools installed ... (make a copy of Second Life.app in case you screw up ) ... - open the Second Life.app package, ( right click on it, select "Show Package Contents" ) - Go into Second Life.app/Contents/Resources/ - Double click on SecondLife.nib - In the nib window that opens, double click on the little MenuBar icon - A menu editor will appear. Select "Window" - Select "Minimize Window" in the menu that drops down - In the main menu bar at the top of the screen select "Tools/Show Inspector" - Use the inspector to remove the Menu Key and Key Modifier - Repeat for other menus as required. - Save the .nib ( hit cmd + S ) - done |

Great, thanks for the tip!
This works to remove cmd-M for minimize, but cmd-H for Hide isn't in the nib it seems... |

unfortunately cmd+H is a sytem wide shortcut, don't know a way to disable that without much trickery.
File a bug report on it, I've filed another one too. |

possibly a simpler solution is everywhere in SL it says cmd use control. yes its the PC shortcut, but it works in SL. i love shortcuts but many of SL's conflict with the mac default ones.
