Ok, I'll bite.
Post what you feel is the ultimate Apple Mac hardware (and software, but stay on topic to hardware with reasons) setup for playing secondlife.
I had a MacBook Pro 17" with 1GB RAM and the 5200 rpm HD. What I noticed right away was that the MacBook Pro 17 performed better with NO external monitor attached.
I used an external Apple keyboard with numeric keypad (white) and a Wacom 12x8 Intuos2 trackpad with cordless mouse. This was key to movement as that mouse is a 3-button mouse.
I switched to a newer Intel 15" MacBook with 2GB of ram and if I remember correctly, it performed less robustly, however I was also using newer viewers (not windlight).
Now I am on a MacBook (not pro) with 2.4 gHz with 2 GB RAM and it's pretty buggy and slow, in my opinion. Post pics if you want.

:0 unless the graphics bus in the no-pros have changed, it's called 'shared vram' on those machines (as opposed to nice fast dedicated video ram on the pros), and 'it's bad' for your overall fps. also while you might possibly now have a much faster processor than the orig powerbook, the sl client isn't written for multicore processors, last i remembered, so it won't actually take full advantage of the total cpu power. (however you probably have an easier time switching apps) p.s. the release clients lately has had some mac-specific bugs that i understand have been fixed - depending on what you commonly do inworld, you may be running into other lingering crashes that are part of the current rc... check out the jira: https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspai've been running the new rc just fine now on my little old eMac.

AFAIK SL now does support multiple core processors.
