I have been eyeballing the Mac Mini 1.83GHz Intel Core Duo with the Intel GMA 950 graphics. This will basically sit on my entertainment system and will connect to my TV's DVI inputs.
I do know that Intel graphics are not kosher with the PC's and Second Life, but what about for the Mac?
Has anyone ever used this model Mac Mini with SL? Will it work?

Mac Mini and SL

I run SL on my Intel Mac Mini. Lots of RAM.Works fine. I have DSL, and that's a constraint on the overall experience, but not the Mini's fault.
Here's what I've found: The Mini runs DVD's, movies, audio, etc. like a champ! So much so, I'm working on turning it into a networked DVR, and replacing my big TV DVD player. ...and buying a new iMac for SL
In SL, I've found two problems: 1. Specific to the MINI: you'll find that the graphics is simply not as good as it should be on the mini. At a busy club, or event with LOTS of sprites running around, I nearly always turn off PARTICLES. This helps immensely. 2. All INTEL Macs: Some DJ's do their live shows with OGG encoding. The OGG plugin for streaming to INTEL macs is not yet released. Turning on audio, or Teleporting into a ogg-using SIM with your audio already on, will crash SL. (OGG is a free software. Don't know when it will be updated for the MacIntel...) Ask the DJ for the URL, and then use VLC for playing the tunes..works fine, if a little clumsy. (Lots of PC users have problems with OGG, too, and end up using external audio player.)

Actually the amount of Ram on your video card is secondary to its processor speed, and the GMA950 is pretty slow, no matter how it uses ram.
