Anyone have insight as to how SL will do with the new 27" iMac:
27-inch model with quad-core processor:
* ATI Radeon HD 4850 graphics processor with 512MB of GDDR3 memory
Hoping that ATI is well supported...

The issues with SL and ATI seem mostly due to the Windows ATI drivers. Under OS X the drivers are integrated by Apple and they go to ludicrous lengths (such as implementing T&L in software if you have an Intel GPU) to hide differences in video cards.

Screen is waaaay to big. YOu have to turn your head back and forth to see everything.
Also, you will need one of the new mouses that has an electric motor built in to get your hand all the way from one side to the other. |

Or buy the 21" version LOL... You can't get quad core CPUs or the high end graphics adapter in the 21" iMac. _____________________

My Macs have ATi cards in (as do most of my PCs). The biggest current downside on the Macs seems to be no shadow support in the third-party viewer community.
