SpaceNavigator flycam and vehicles

I just got a SpaceNavigator, and have a couple of questions. (I'm using RC 1.20.6)

First, I can't get the left button to work to toggle flycam. I can do it via the menu or keyboard shortcut, but the left button won't do it. It can do other things, and I have even programmed it with a macro of for the keystroke, but no luck. [edit: I had changed the button settings for "any application" then set up SL as an application, and tried to change settings there. I guess it doesn't work that way. I unassigned the buttons under "any application" and it works fine.]

Second, has anyone had luck using it to drive vehicles? I can use it to do everything but turn. Ok if you only want to go one direction...

i cant help you with your problem, but i'm wondering what your impression of the SpaceNavigator is? they look great!

I am liking it so far. It takes a little getting used to, but it feels a lot more fluid than the old methods. As a builder, I'm not sure it is better. I don't think I would use it for anything precise, and the flycam method of camera moving, although more cinematic, doesn't let me focus on an object and orbit around. The other drawback is that it doesn't seem to work with vehicles. But even with all that, I don't regret buying it. I expect there will be improvements to the interface in time, and it does feel pretty cool for just walking, flying, and camming around.

i remember in Torley Linden's vidtuts of it that he thought the current SpaceNavigator config screen in SL was very beta-ish, like a 747 cockpit, and that hopefully future config screens will make configuration much easier. lets hope, i think i'm gonna get one .

Spacenavigator wont work at all in RC 1.20.8 Anybody else find this problem
