Hi all from Portugal

I am a very experient builder on SL, but always running windows XP on an old Toshiba

Now I feel is time to speed and flow it all up on SL, with a Mac, but not the top ones, cause my budget is limited

I intend to buy the new Mini Mac with following Specs

- Intel® Core™2 Duo 2,53GHz (FSB 1066MHz)
- Cache: 3MB L2
- Mem: 4GB DDR3-1066 (2x 2GB)
- NVIDIA® GeForce® 9400M
- Graph Mem - Shared 256MB

Considering these specifications do you guys think it will run ok or m I being to naive ?

Is anybody using this specific one (not the early) - The New Mac Mini ???

Will I still need to edit prefs to minimal performances ???

Thanks - Loff Auer

My older mac mini (1.8ghz, GMA 950 graphics) can only run SL at the lowest settings. The one your looking at is much faster but id want to try it and make sure before i committed. Sorry im not much help!

I'm not using that specific model, but I've used some close to it and they're okay with SL. You won't have to dial the graphics settings all the way down, but you probably won't be able to turn them way up and still get a satisfactory frame rate.

I bought it - The latest model of Mac Mini - 2,53Ghz - 4GRAM & Nvidia 9400 - and so far I tried 3 Mac viewers - Release Candidate (the best so far) - the SL Official one and Snowglobe - both last 2 worked really worse than Release, witch is the only one that allows me to surf in Mid-low prefs and never crash or freeze in long straight flights
