Since today I'm having problem with SL and my Mac Pro Quad 3GHz (3GB mem)... I can log in without any problem, but within the next 5 min. I get a black screen (even if I do nothing, and even if I'm in a empty region!), then my screen tries to sync to a signal that doesn't seem to be right, sometimes I get a jammed screen with oblique lines awfully looking. The only thing I can do in this case is force shut down the Mac! I doubt there's a hardware problem, as my Mac runs fine with anything but SL. I've been playing for 2 month now, and I've experienced several Kernel Panics since my debut, but not very often and only in crowded places. But I never had that screen jamming problem! It all started today... Any idea?

Seems most problems with SL for Macs are the result of a video card. What video card do you have?

Well... Sorry I didn't mention that. The Graphic card installed is a GeForce 7300 GT with 256MB of memory. It's supposed to be quite a good card, above average at least, and I would never have to complain about it before my recent troubles... The other thing I did not mention in my previous post, is that I did some updates from Apple: Security Update 2006-008 (universal) and IChat (Universal), maybe this info could help?
For the time being, I'll check if I can reproduce this problem with another 3D demanding game, this could be the sign of a faulty 3D chip.

Are you able to get the main SL splash screen, if so then look through your preferences.

In Graphics >> Check "Run in a window", SL is crap fullscreen on Mac anyway, as you can't switch to other apps. Pick your screen's resolution to get the window to fit.
In advanced graphics, uncheck "Anisotropic Filtering" if it's selected.

I can log in without a hassle, my problem pops within 5-10 min. I was already running SL in a window and without the "Anisotropic Filtering". I've also tried to bring down every graphic option but nothing helps... I'm really starting to think my graphic card has a hard time handling that SL job, though it shouldn't!

Nvidia Drivers suck. Try Lowering the memory in use..

Thanks for you're response Sterling, I've been reading all this and I tried lowering graphic memory usage within the SL preferences. Well... It did help a bit and I was able to play a little longer, say, 15 minutes, then I crashed the very same way... I guess I'll have to contact Apple, so they exchange that shitty 7300GT for an ATI 1900 which seems problemless...
