Whenever I right click, the circle that gives you your action choices doesn't show up on my screen.

check mouse configuration

I've had sl not acknowledge a right click and had to reset the mouse in preferences. check that, or just command click until you get it figured out

Apple Menu --> System Preferences... --> Keyboard and Mouse --> Mouse tab.
There's nothing to reset really, but just check to make certain the settings look good for you and adjust if not.
Also as mentioned above, make certain you can bring up the radial menu in SL by command clicking. That is always a good backup method.

Okay, the problem was, I was pressing the options key when I should have been pressing Command. Once again, thanks.

From: Missy Malaprop people still use Ctrl and CMD and stuff for right clicking? weird... Well, a lot of us lived with a one-button mouse for a long time. But as you know (and I'll testify), the SL experience is about 8,000,000,000 times better by being able to actually right click. I do NOT miss my one-button days, in SL or most other apps.

Apple hasn't sold a Mac or standard mouse in many years that you have to use a keyboard key to do a right click.

How do I right click with a mouse which doesn't have two buttons? I am *really* sick of having to use two hands to right click!!! Miss Juniper Easterwood of Caledon Dundee, stepping out of character

Of course, if your Mac is an older one that doesn't have that capability, that being of using a fairly standard two-plus button USB mouse, then I don't know. CMD-clicking will probably have to be the monkey on your back until you get a newer Mac. That all written, I'm new to the Mac world, so what do I know?

I bought my Mac last September. It's a 24" iMac, early 2008 model. I have *never* seen a two-button mouse with a Mac!

Hrm. Well, I don't know that much about the iMacs, but I'm going to venture a guess that it has a USB mouse? If true, and if you are running Leopard (10.5.6), I bet you can just go out and buy yourself either... a Mighty Mouse or just some other non-Apple mouse and just swap it in. Betcha it will work AND give you that second-button. New Info! I just plugged in my own Mighty Mouse and went into System Preferences..., Keyboard and Mouse, clicked on the Mouse "tab/button" and was presented with the image of the Mighty Mouse. I set the right-button from Primary Button to Secondary Button and shazam! Right clicks worked. So, forget about buying a new mouse. Your Mighty Mouse should work just fine. Uhm... I think your Mac came with a Mighty Mouse... If not, then... back to buying a new mouse. I'll also chime in with my specifics currently. I'm running on a MacBook Pro, late 2008 aka, the unibody MBP, with an external Apple USB keyboard and a daisy-chained Logitech Trackman Wheel, which has not only two but three buttons. Of course, I'm not certain the middle button works for anything.

Haha! I use a Microsoft-branded 2-button mouse with scroll wheel an zoom function on my MBP. It was ridiculously cheap (under $30) and has worked fine for two years.
