Camera controls

My wife and I both use Macbooks and it seems the new viewer update has disabled the keyboard camera controls. Is any other Mac user experiencing this problem?

its bugged... they screwed up and forgot to make it CMD, its CTRL even though the shortcut says CMD ` its CTRL ` and it works.

Unfortunately that does not work in this case. Before this viewer you could adjust the camera position via the keyboard by holding down the shift-option-command key and using the arrow keys. This is what does not seem to work now as of this afternoon.

I am having the exact same issues. Thank god its not just me. Also, when i ctrl alt and click the mouse the last line of chat i typed reappears in the chat bar. Thank you Linden Labs for another f***ed up update

Me too.... grrr. I'm so tired of hearing that noise it makes when holding down ALT-CTRL to rotate vertically doesn't work!

I'll try to reproduce that, but I've only been using the First Look voice viewer and the camera works fine there.

Second Life 1.17.0 (12) , recent viewer still has the issue, I'm going to post it to the JIRA Issue Tracker so it can be fixed.

I've post the CMD-` bug to the JIRA, the number is VWR-1246.

I'm not sure how to even spend time in SL without being able to use the camera controls.

It turns out that it is also an issue on the Windows side. Here is the URL to the tracker:

Please go vote for it and make sure to add in a comment about you also being from the Mac side of things.

I heard about the bug, but I had upgraded from first look to first look viewer and my camera controls still worked. I was crashing so much the day after the upgrade, so I decided to go to the regular client. Once I did that, my camera controls no longer worked. I reinstalled the first look client and now I still have no camera controls!

Just a hint, if camera controls are working for you, don't update your viewer! Thank you to the person that submitted this bug, I'm going to go vote for it.

My experience (post-updater) has been that the camera controls still work IF you close the chat window. Pain in the butt! Remember back when they took away the HOME key's function of "stop flying?" I guess enough people complained, because within a few days, they CHANGED IT BACK.

Lindens, i formally register my complaint about this bogus change. Please CHANGE IT BACK!!!

ty for that information, I hadn't considered the possibility that Philip might think I wouldn't want to talk and look around at the same time.

You're right though, if I close my chat and IM windows, I can use keyboard camera controls just fine. Now if we can only get the Lindens to let us use chat at the same time!
