Have you double downloaded 10.5.2 and the GL graphics update?

The capture-to-video function for Macintosh was broken about six months ago and never repaired. I have submitted tickets to Linden about this and was told that I'd be better off using an external video capture application.

In other words, I wouldn't hold your breath for the to be fixed... ever. It was really disappointing. Your Mac will crash immediately from even trying it.

I didn't realise that it was broken in the sense of not working _at all_, but I've not used it for a very long time due to the fact that it was, well, really bad. I don't think that there are any plans to improve or fix it and, to be honest, there are third-party tools that do a much better job anyway (I use Snapz Pro X myself).

ScreenFlow.

Screen Flow is nice for screencasts but the number one app to capture games on OS X is called iShowU ... check it out you won't regret it! I've been doing Machinima and SL event video capture for a few years now and while on Windows, you can't beat FRAPS, on the Mac it's iShowU.

It's 20 bucks over at http://www.shinywhitebox.com/

I tried iShowU and didn't dig it as much as ScreenFlow.

Here's a vid I captured in ScreenFlow and edited in iMovie, if you want an example...

I use showu and love it, I have not tried the other program mentioned since I already purchased showu but since it works perfectly I won’t change it. I have made some cool videos and have some on YouTube.
