i guys,
I'm new there, and I have to instal SL as soon as possible.
I've downloaded my version, but some errors happen....actually just one: -4960.
Does someone know what it means? and how can I solve this?
Please HelpMe!!!

-4960 is a generic foundation error code, but when you see it with a disk image it's been corrupted. The downloads for SL can be unreliable. Try downloading again, with an empty browser cache, maybe even try a different browser. But downloading a fresh copy is usually enough. If you are using a wireless connection, try wired.

If the newest version continues to give you problems with the download, try the previous one for now. That will get you up and running I hope, then you can play with downloading the latest when you have more time.

Previous version here:

Hi Sara, are you getting the same error with both SL versions? Are other disk images opening for you?

Hey Sara,

Also be sure to download it from the website.

I have had problems in the past if I tried to download updates though the SL program.

Do you get errors opening any other program that is a .dmg? If so, the problem might be your software, in which case run a Disk Repair to fix it. If you still need help, let us know and I can upload the application for you in a .zip

Sara, I got the same problem today when I downloaded the Release Candidate - mounting failed. I downloaded again, but this time by right-clicking and selecting "Download linked file". The download was much faster and the disk mounted properly.

Perhaps it's coincidence - what do I know? LOL But it maybe worth giving it a try if you're still stuck.
