Hi,
Of late, the Second Life website --- at least the resident only parts of it --- just plain refuses to load in Safari (or Firefox, for that matter). Yet in clunky old IE5, no problem. Has anybody else experienced similar problems?

No. I'm using Safari right now, and having no issues with the site. Perhaps it's something corrupted in your browser cache? Try dumping any cached files in Safari, then try those links again.
