I have a very large Mac. It is the Mac Daddy. Dual-CPU Mac Pro with 12G of RAM. The graphics card is a Radeon X1900, which runs in DVI dual-link mode because my monitor is an HP LP3065... all of which is not to do that big-yourself-up deal, but instead to ask how people get on with CoolViewer.
I ask because this setup used to get NOISY in SL. jumping the SL window to the foreground was frequently accompanied by some of the fans maxing out - a thunderous jet-taking-off accompaniment on this machine. I tried CoolViewer last night for a couple of hours, and I have to say, I was amazed: the fans didn't pick up speed one tiny bit! I can't quite see why this wwould follow from a bit of a debugging and code cleanup run: does anyone know why CoolViewer in particular should confer this massive difference in system cooling?

Where do I get CoolViewer? I have a Quad 2.66 Mac Pro with 8GB of RAM and the same XT1900 512 video card, plus an Apple 30" LCD monitor, which is my recording studio system where I produce my live SL concerts. I have not experienced the fan and noise issues you have, but I'd love to be prepared in case I do.

@Gummi No idea. Perhaps it's the "Cool" in the name . For the Mac version please have a look at Hyang's website: hyangreflections.blogspot.com
