Hey, [solved]

My friend plays music through voice on Second Life, but he's running on a Windows computer, so he couldn't help me...I know you can do it through stereo mix on a windows computer, but i was wondering if there was some way to do it on a mac computer? I heard something about Skype but i honestly don't know how it would help/work...any help or advice would be helpful. Or better yet if you know of any tutorials! Thanks in advance!! :)

**Edit: I figured it out by finding an article. For anybody interested, here are some steps (Edited for second life) for Mac Users only. A few steps, but worth it.
1. Download the free app "SoundFlowerBed" from http://www.cycling74.com/products/soundflower
2. Launch SoundFlowerBed. The icon of a flower will appear at the top right of your menu.
3. Launch Audio MDI Setup. (Application/Utilities folder)
4. In Audio MDI Setup window, in the Audio Devices tab, and under System Settings, change the default output to Soundflower (2ch).
5. Go up to your SoundFlowerBed menu icon, and below "Soundflower 2ch", click either Built-in Output, or whatever plug-in you use to hear with.
6. Launch Second Life. Open preferences (Ctrl/Cmd+P or Edit > Preferences.). Go to the "Voice Chat" tab. Click "Device Settings." Now set your *Input* Device to Soundflower 2ch. Then set your *Output* Device to your either your Built-in Output or your plugged-in headset. Close the device settings box, then click Apply, and Ok.
7. Play Music through iTunes or (I believe) any website or source you may have for music, and click Lock on your Voice chat.

(Note: It is possible to Mute your microphone during this, but I don't think you can talk while the music is playing, and these settings are set. I may be wrong...but I haven't tried it. Make sure you take note of all default settings before you mess with anything so you know how to change it back. Just back-track.)

Here is the original article that I figured this all out from. Keep in mind I edited it to work for Second Life: http://forums.macrumors.com/archive/index.php/t-276754.html

SoundFlower works good... SoundFlowerBed is just an app to help listen in to Soundflower channels.

You can install Soundflower... use an app for music that allows you to select output.. and output the music to Soundflower 2ch... and set voice input in SL to Soundflower 2ch.

You can use Soundflowerbed to listen in to Soundflower 2ch and hear what is playing.

You can do this with iTunes, but then you have to make all your sounds go to soundflower 2ch, so every sound your system makes goes to it.... You can set garageband inputs and outputs manually, so you can play some through the media browser on that, but it has problems with some DRMed music.
