Hi, All!

I could really use your help as I use my IMAC to earn a living. I watched Torley Linden's video today on how to you SCULPTY PAINT software to create and upload sculpted prims into Second Life. I was so excited! I carefully downloaded the MAC OS X 10.4 for INTEL version.

Upon launching, it immediately changed my monitor display to very strange colors that make using my MAC impossible. I can barely see anything on my mac to effectively pinpoint the problem. I was able to open System Preferences and check my display settings...which were fine at 1680 x 1050 displaying millions of colors. I am able to log in to my other desktop on my MAC and use if fine. However, it is crucial I find a a way to fix the display issue on my main desktop as that is where all my important files, photos, Second Life files, etc. are.

The help file that came with SCUPTY PAINT said that it was created for Windows and that
a certain character string needed to be put into the "terminal" to make it an executable program. I launched the program before doing this not understanding what to do and it launched fine and appeared for a few seconds before changing my monitor colors.

Please help with any suggestions you can. I am at a total loss and not finding answers online. Thanks so much!

select -> show profiles for this display only
select -> a profile (ie imac) and re - calibrate

Still need suggestions for INTEL MAC issue - MAJOR

Hi, all!

I really appreciate so much the last person who took the time to respond to my need for help. I already tried that suggestion previously..to no avail.. Any other ideas?
I use my MAC to make a living..and have not been able to use my desktop account that has all my important files. The SCULPTY PAINT program I downloaded to my IMAC did something weird to my display and turned it dark and weird colors....
normal routes of recalibration, etc. are not working.

Thanks so very much!!

hey!

can you call your local apple dealer, most will give phonesupport

support at apple com
theres a forum at their site too

if some parameters are broken
1st pr reset on startup

####snip####
try resetting parameter random-access memory (PRAM). Shut down your computer; then turn it on again and immediately hold down the Command-Option-P-R keys. When you hear the startup sound for the second time, release the keys. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Startup Disk. Make sure that the disk containing Mac OS X is selected.

IMPORTANT: Resetting PRAM may change some system settings and preferences. Use System Preferences to restore your settings.

2nd osx new install COULD fix it - boring i know cos of all updates to version 10.4.11

if its a hardwaredefect, ...
