I do not know, but are there any community councils or meeting of specific political interest groups in sl?

There are a few bodies I could think of that might be what you are looking for. The Lindens hold occasional 'Town Hall' meetings, look out for announcements in the Forums or the new Linden blog. In addition there is the Community Roundtable (click the link for more info).
Also, there are community groups and political associations which might correspond to the kind of 'civil society' groups I think you're referring to. Ones I am aware of are the Socialist Party of Second Life; Lefties, Loonies and Liberals; and the Social Democratic Faction. You can search for these (and political groupings from different parts of the political spectrum) by clicking 'Search' inworld and then the 'Groups' tab. Finally there are communities that have established themselves in distinct territories in Second Life and which have more or less developed civil societies. I'm involved with Neufreistadt, a democratic, self-governing community. Our legislature, the Representative Assembly, is meeting weekly at the moment. I convene regular meetings of the Citizens' Social Democratic Faction (the opposition party) in the City. Many of us are also involved in planning our expansion to a second sim. More details available here. Be sure to check out our forums where we are currently discussing the development of our legal system. Other societies I'm aware of include Caledon, Port Neualtenburg, the various Furry sims, the Elven sims and the Goreans. These have varying degrees of organisation but some do hold 'community meetings' of some sort. Hope that helps ![]() _____________________
