I would like to make public mention that:
Bastillion Bachman, longstanding and well known resident of Caledon, is now appointed to the position of Ambassador to the sim of Neufreistadt. We'd swap flags, if the Neufeistadt folks come up with one ![]() _____________________

Why do all the user-government projects have names that no one can spell? There's Neualtbrug, Newfeistat, and Cellodome. I'm going to name the next one "Fred". ![]() ~Ulrika~ Caledon is usually misquoted as Celadon (a lovely Korean pottery, by the way: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celadon) and incidentally the name of someone else's sim. I have *no doubt* that we have sent a few wondering visitors that way; I really ought to go there and see what it's like. Why "Caledon"? Wheee, let's go on a lexical journey! In the words of Wordsworth, Caledon is but a name: http://www.bartleby.com/145/ww784.html Furthermore, some historic reference: http://homepage.mac.com/macfhionn/FREUMH/FeallsanachdDiadhaireachd/FNLee/Cumbria.html Also, these three tenors: http://www.rampantscotland.com/features/bldev_caledon.htm Gotta have the druids involved somehow too: http://www.druidsofcaledon.co.uk/ With druids come regionally specific Caledon trees: http://www.nationalgeographic.com/wildworld/profiles/terrestrial/pa/pa0503.html But most of all: Amang the trees, where humming bees, At buds and flowers were hinging, O, Auld Caledon drew out her drone, And to her pipe was singing, O: 'Twas Pibroch, Sang, Strathspeys, and Reels, She dirl'd them aff fu' clearly, O: When there cam' a yell o' foreign squeels, That dang her tapsalteerie, O. Their capon craws an' queer "ha, ha's," They made our lugs grow eerie, O; The hungry bike did scrape and fyke, Till we were wae and weary, O: But a royal ghaist, wha ance was cas'd, A prisoner, aughteen year awa', He fir'd a Fiddler in the North, That dang them tapsalteerie, O. Robert Burns I have a love of words. For those that share it, a gift: http://phrontistery.info/ I encourage you to check out Forthright's Sottisier collection there: http://phrontistery.info/sottisier.html _____________________

Mmmm. Phrontistery. I've had that site bookmarked for over a year. Very useful for, say, coming up with a character's name when you're stumped.
It's helped me make a lot of people think I'm clever! ![]() |

I think that every time you turn a reply into an advertisement for your virtual real estate, that you should have to put a quarter in a jar. ![]() ~Ulrika~ What should I put in there, if I manage to get an entire subcategory like the Political Science forum created? *clinks Ulrika's stein with my teacup* Cheers ![]() (ps: forum posts never did get Caledon on the map. It was a combination of being discovered by the Steampunks, the lovely Yuriko Muromachi's clothing acting as a draw, and putting a notice out at West Trade. shhhhh ![]() _____________________

What should I put in there, if I manage to get an entire subcategory like the Political Science forum created? However, I will give you that I am absolutely notorious for turning posts into advertisements for my project, so that's a vice we share. Perhaps we could talk about it in the Port of Neualtenburg in the sim of Funadama. I'll take you for a spin on one of my unique chicken racers. They're only L$200 for white and copper and L$400 for black. ![]() ~Ulrika~ ![]() _____________________
