framing government as an "overseer" obscures the activities of government.
true, government can be big brotherish, but government also does other things.
there's a lot of fear out there with regards to residents being involved in how sl is run.
which is very odd given that ll goes out of its way to get the residents involved.
ll asks for feature input. ll asks for discussion about how could be. ll hires out of the resident pool.
btw, are people who were residents and are now employees to be feared as governments agents are? does being an employee somehow magically prevent one from being corrupted by actual employee power, versus ll granted government power?
