As a proud resident and player, I've decided to write this article/topic to address the rising disturbance of SL terrorists. I do not endorse self defense or violations of the TOS.
A rising problem to the community, a harassment authority to all. Most experienced residents can agree, the popularity of SL criminal and terrorist groups are reaching peak high and are pressing against the tolerance of paying and respectful SL inhabitants. These greivances have expanded, and deviate from real word mafia politics and approachs. Extortions, unauthorized sales and other rackets have expanded to large scale attacks, such as maliciously scripted nukes and script/push lock bypassing firearms.
Mindless, bored players immerse themselves in a silly joy ride, often banding with other useless members, usually immature youth to form silly SL political ideals or to replicate real life criminal organizations. Mafias are extremely popular among other harmful groups. Their interests lie in the surrender and emotional reactions from serious residents. Law enforcement response is often too weak, or too late, and most 'soldiers' of these criminal crews are handed mass-distributed weapons and gear without having to build an arsenal costly to lose.
The typical SL terrorist is armed with the latest weapon freebies, and a cruel and/or annoying imagination, and a set of orders easy to follow and delightful to execute. These aren't terrorists as you see from the media. They do not take hostages, conceal their faces, or belong to real political parties. They are what you can call a 'terrorist wannabe.'
Most SL terrorists are non-payment accounts and they are worthless clones among the ranks of their group's heirarchy. Typically leaders of these organizations are sponsors with too much money and too much time on their hands. Directly engaging SL terrorist ring leaders is an effective solution. Without a sponsor or a arsenal/financial source, most groups would instantly disband.
The question is how to rid of these scourges that lag the game and retard community growth yet still remain to annoy another good fellow another day?
These fools nourish themselves from the concerned individuals who threaten to report, or the Lindens who respond to reports. The only response should be armed, and all that wish not to be harassed or are hone to cross paths with these scum should be advised to be one step ahead. Remember to have banned lists active, and decent security/security systems to thwart out attackers.
Here are some key pointers players should use if encountered by terrorists:
-Self defense is easy to get away with. Terrorists don't use the report button. Purchasing a simple firearm can scatter harassing residents.
-Use auto return or restrict building.
-Turn on a push lock. Most terrorists are armed with cheap, poorly coded armament that is only effective in sandboxes.
