hope this is the right place plz move if not...

I'm not in the habit of naming names, so I wont (u know who u are)
but today I was givin a gift while playing slingo in quite popular joint I decided to test it out (not having a clue what it does btw I thought it was so I could track my friend whom I kept looseing on our explorations), it was an "Im here" thingy.. all of a sudden, without warning im kicked right out of the place... now Im an easy going guy and I rarley complain, but this isnt on, should I at least expect a warning like, "take that off or I'll bounce you"? in fact he/she said NOTHING, and im mearly guessing it was the "Im here" thing thats the reason!! its highly annoying and offencive... I mean if I bumb into someone they can report a PVP violation, but THIS doesnt show up? I swear if I had of had the money, he wud have been neged there and then... but oh well...

its the last time I go to that place...

are you sure it wasnt a script in the 'im here" ?

you where on a private land, this mean the person has the right to eject you from it (using llEjectblah())

I dont dispute his right to eject me, but fair warning might be a decent gesture, I am pretty new to the SL meta and a tiny bit of patience would be nice, It was an error on my part, and indeed a lesson learned..but it still pissed me right off that I was just thrown out the way I was....
Richie

btw Im not actually sure if it was a script or not... it looked like red beams comming out of my feet....

Richie - I don't know the background on what happened to you, but I do run events myself, and occasionally, have to eject folks for being disruptive. So I know how it is from a host perspective.

At least for my own events, I'm typically doing 20 things at once, and barely maintaining, I might add. If someone is being disruptive in the middle of an event, I usually don't have time to stop, and have a conversation with them to determine whether it's intentional or unintentional.

From my own experience, if I eject someone, and it is a genuine mistake - the individual ends up very politely IMing me, either apologizing, or explaining in a mature way they don't understand what happened. More often than not, they get an apology from me, and a removal from the ban list/TP back.

Genuine griefers seem to either quietly disappear, or continue to be abusive in Chat/IM.

I can't say that the host you were dealing with would operate the same way - but the majority of folks are reasonable. Griefing is just part of Second Life, unfortunately. Its a shame when someone innocent gets caught up in the fray.

Maybe one day landowners will have proactive tools to prevent grief before it happens, so mistakes like this are a thing of the past :D
