I know many of you have problems deciding what want you be, wheather it's furry(cute little guys yummy),a Robot, ninja or just want plan a**hole, well then, I have the idea for you:-). As one of the yummest of females in I feel it's my duty to give you a forum invitation(LOL) to join My civilization called Drowes(you can think of a name I'm not good at it lol). This is just an idea I came up with for fun and if you want to support it, I would be more then happy to make it happen. Here are some of the additions I plan to have, but I need support

- Public Services
-Own form of Currency(Exchange L for it)
- Strong Government(I will need support for this a lot of it)
*Judges
*Senators
*Religous Leaders(all belifes accepted even Satanism)
*Public Service Leader ect.
- the rest is up to you...

Well this is a long term idea, but with work followers of this can succeed.

:-)Please reply with a nice comment:>;)

Basically, you need everything, including citizens, a theme, and finances.

Have you participated in any of the existing "civilizations" in SL? Why do you want to create your own from scratch?

It is an interesting concept, but I'm curious if you could ellaborate on what those "public services" might be or what you invisioned them to be?
I ask because in your list you have "- Public Services" as well as a "*Public Service Leader ect." which implies, to me anyway, there might be some more detail behind your idea.

We already HAVE a civilization and it's global. You're talking about making a nation-state, more or less like Neualtenberg, ect.

I have two things to say,
1. think about naming it Thrid Life just because u can,
2. If you do manage to set up a goverment, i have a military group forming called Rainbow, if youve read the book u know where im comign from, and i'd be happy to become the military wing of your "civilization for a little funding and a little land for a base of operations.

What public services do you envision that we would want to pay for? Street sweeping? Rubbish collection? Food distribution?

This is something I've been trying to train myself to think about in SL. It's not necessarily that there aren't any public services to be filled, but that they may need to be different to suit the altered reality of Second Life.

This divide is most evident in SL architecture. A building that is ideally suited for a RL human would be terrible for an avatar, and vice versa. RL people don't have eyes 3 meters behind their heads, but they can't fly at will, either. If you ask me, SL-optimized architecture needs to be explored to its full potential.

I can suggest a few SL public services in the form of events coodinators, police with ban powers instead of guns (estate managers, really), SL-specific education programs, and cultural enrichment/exposure programs. If you're living in a Japanese-themed roleplaying sim, wouldn't it be cool to attend a seminar on feudal Japanese customs?

Finally, I've run across a few novel things that make total logical sense, but would be an insult to reality in our first lives. Have you ever owned a table that spawned a new empty seat every time someone sat down?

Just my two L$. I think this forum posting habit I'm forming must be an indicator of what the workforce is doing to my attention span.

Several existing cultural sims have such things now ... there is an Elven themed sim, several Gorean culture sims, a steampunk venue and a several music clubs and "adult" sims. The challenge is that all of those require volunteer labor, which becomes hard to enlist after a while. Good help is hard to find, unless you have good money to pay them.

Understood. I actually got most of those ideas from events I've attended myself, like the Pirate seminars in Tortuga. Of course, sim owners could use a percentage of their profits to fund such activites... cough.

Right, I don't know what I was thinking.
