Help finding a script for a simple model train

I'd appreciate if anyone could point me in the direction of a simple script that I might use to allow a model train follow a track "path".

I've been searching and found some scripts but I'm not sure how they function (I only understand enough to tweak some well documented scripts) and they also seem to be geared at large vehicles that carry passengers.

This script would only be for a tiny little engine that I hope to place on a lay-out with mini-trees, buildings and such.

I really wish I could remember who was showing something that would work for this at an oldbie show and tell a year or so ago.
