If I were to commission someone/you to make the following vendor, how much would you charge? Also, would it be different if I asked for only my use, verse letting you also sell it publicly?
Animation Vendor - Allows viewers to 'test' poses - Would love if it did single and double poses but not necessary - Shows the price & name - Has, of course, ability to browse animation from buttons or Dialog (either way is fine) - Allows Commission to be shared with another - Allows the sold item to be in a box/another format other than just the Animation - Preferrably silent. Does not 'talk'. If it does, it does so only to the browser. - I'd love, too, if it has a 'Sale' feature that automatically deducted a certain percentage off all prices. Again, not necessary. - Likewise, would rock if it could give a 'group' discount.. Group selected by Notecard preferrably so it didn't need be the land group. - Highly preferred that names, prices, etc, use a Notecard - Ooo, another thing I'd love is if a single slot could sell different versions. Such as Mod/Copy for one price, and Mod/Trans for a different/same price.
I know that's asking alot, lol. Think they are semi-basic scripts though, but to put them together myself would drive me crazy!

I have two vendor systems that would be suited for your needs. The old one not that easy to setup and understand, driven by notecards has a German Handbuch, and was l$0 open source, as long as I 'sold' it. The new one is mainly a patch for the SLX box an an 'idea' for a protocol. I called it "'try' and 'buy' vendor". Each vendor reacts on touch with a 'try' region say command and on money with a 'buy' region say command. The 'buy' region say command is normally processed by a script added as a patch to an SLX box. So the first benefit is: you only need to pack your products once, once for SLX and can sell them on parcel also. The new search is bad for multi product vendors, but prefers objects found on a parcel. Normally the try and buy vendors are 1 prim vendors, with the object name pointing to product name and object description containing the price. So there is no need for a notecard to configure your vendors and you can put every vendor in search. The try part could be everything, e.g. a rezzer (easy) or a command for a libls bot to change clothes (vaporware). Now the tricky part for selling animations is to use my lsDancemachine for the 'try' part. The lsDancemachine is client server, so you can put your animations into it, and command it to animate avatars. ciao,Kephra

Wow, excellent explaination!
.. Except for the fact that I don't do scripting so have no idea what you're talking about.. Don't suppose you'd be willing to dummy it down for me? Lol.

PLEASE!? =(
Lol. I've even IMed a Scripter.. they told me to go look at SLX and wouldn't even think about making this. Is it really hard? I know it seems hard to me, but I'm not a scripter..

Malina, I would probably be an ideal person to make something like this since I have made all my own animation/pose vendors. But the features that you are requesting would take quite a while to code and debug. Single poses is easy. That is what mine do. Double poses - difficult. You get into having multiple sit targets, having to rez pose balls, having a mechanism for adjusting the positions and rotations of the avis, etc. etc. etc. Commissions - Can be done, but requires some work, especially if you want it to be flexible. Sold item in box - name of box can be added to notecard - not too hard Sale feature - not too difficult, but once again would take time to code Group discount - a little harder - has to be rebate thing so the vendor would pay back a certain amount to active group members Multiple versions - Could be done - lots more coding The reason I write all this is to tell you why I would not want to do it. It may be the same reasons other scripters don't want to do it. Don't be surprised if a professional quotes a price of 100,000 Lindens or more for something like this.

I'd be happy to do this for L$100K, as long as it's not exclusive. For couples poses, setting it up would be a bitch: you'd essentially set up a pose as you would for any typical sex bed (e.g. MLP), but it would deliver a product that would be up to you the seller to make identical to the pose displayed. However, that's not so difficult if you use MLP to create the pose in the first place, select the balls & link them, and then replace the scripts and drop in the anims being used. But I suspect you already have your poseball sets, and other than rezzing the poseball set and having people jump on for each set, it would be rather challenging. Note that the MLP method doesn't work well if you need sit target offsets in the poseballs or other features (like configurable facial expressions) that would cause them to behave differently than a simple poseball.

Alas, this is not possible (group configured by notecard). The best we can do is to give a discount to people wearing the group tag that matches the object's group. The only thing a scripted object can do with groups is to tell whether an av is wearing a tag for the same group as the object. From: someone - Ooo, another thing I'd love is if a single slot could sell different versions. Such as Mod/Copy for one price, and Mod/Trans for a different/same price. You would have to build two objects (copy + trans) and give them different names and drop them in the vendor's inventory (in addition to configuring it in the notecard). Also, the vendor would work one of two ways. Simpler: it would sell a single object, whatever you specified. More complicated (and more complicated to configure, but not terribly so): it would sell a list of objects, which would go into the buyers inventory in a folder, whose name you would specify in the notecard. Of course, you would have to specify each item to give for a given anim in the config note.

Hmm.. It definately isn't worth 100k Really, the main things I've been looking for are Animation Vendor - Allows viewers to 'test' poses - Shows the price & name - Has, of course, ability to browse animation from buttons or Dialog (either way is fine) - Allows the sold item to be in a box/another format other than just the Animation - Preferrably silent. Does not 'talk'. If it does, it does so only to the browser. - Highly preferred that names, prices, etc, use a Notecard I've seen vendors out there that have most of it, just not all of it.. So I'd have to buy a vendor for A, b and c.. Then another for d, e and f.. It would be alot of clutter, and I'm rather shocked no one's made one like this already. The rest would be sweet but not something I'd starve in RL for, lol.

Plus 5% commission. You didn't mention that.

OK, I was kidding about the 100K.
Just bear in mind that you won't find a "simple" vendor for couple poses that doesn't boot the avatars off when changing products. For that, you need the equivalent of a pose system (e.g., MLP*, XPOSE), plus a product deliver system. The reason for this is simple: the avatars are sitting on balls. If you de-rez the balls (to show another product), they pop off. You can't have an object pass a sitting avatar onto another object -- there is no "sitter handoff" feature.
Therefore, the avatars are either sitting on an imitation of the product (a pose setup), or the pose system generates the p
I thought about finding a way to have an MLP bed actually generate the poseball set based on the current pose. It's doable, but nontrivial, and has some odd characteristics (unless someone can think of a better way -- which is always possible).
Here's how it could work: you simply set up a pose system the normal way. You need to add some additional configs, including price. Customer uses it like a normal pose system, but with the "Pay" option available.
When Pay is selected, a message is sent to the balls which then link themselves together and go into the poseball mode. Animations are delivered to the respective balls. The user then takes posession of this set, somehow -- and there's the rub. Someone else could steal it between them buying and them collecting. You could also tell the ball set who the new owner is and have it delete itself after sending a message to the vendor owner if the wrong person picks it up.
All in all, while it's doable, I see too many sticky little issues, not to mention a bit of nontrivial scripting. Maybe if I get bored, or if a new idea hits me.

Malina, I'm surprised you don't find one that meets your reasonable criteria for single animations. If you don't get any luck finding one, let me know.

Cheree - I already have that one. It lacks notecard feature and does not allow boxes. Lear - I haven't found one as quite clearly I made this post looking for one, or looking for one to be made Wouldn't have posted this if I had one already. I'll just wait for my friend to come back online (whenever that might be, been waiting even longer than this thread) and see if he'll make it. Someone's gonna and they're gonna get alot of sales from it.
