I am looking to trade my paper clip for any anything of value, it can be land, a sculpture, clothing etc. The item you trade to me must be transferable and have a value, I am not looking for freebies.

Contact me in game and let me know what you have to trade.

My first Trade - New items available
04-15-2007 11:48
Just received in trade for one Paper clip, 3 lovely art images made by Bodger Brooks.

They normally retail for $100 each in her shop, I am now offering for trade these 3 lovely images for anything of greater value. The item can be anything, land, and object, a service etc but it has to be transferable.

By "have a value" do you mean it's for sale in SL?

well for sale in sl or perceived to be something someone one wants. It could be something you made yourself if its really nice and not normally given away.

After much thought and inventory digging I have decided to offer you this Bonsai thing I made ages ago.
There is a little catch ..when I sell this, it's at a cost of 190L. Lower than the photo pics are priced at(100L each).
I don't have a lot of need for the photo pics and just for that reason, I value them lower to me personally... so - i give you a little dilemma .. will you accept something which was priced lower by its creator? While the term 'worth less' or 'of greater value' would be debateable.. something is only worth what a person is willing to pay/trade it for, right? .. take it or leave it! :)

That is a dilemma, do you still sell the Bonsai tree? or is it a hard thing to still get? I do love Bonsai trees. And personally I think the tree would have more value then the pictures. But the retail price is less.

Would you consider trading 2 of the trees for the 3 pieces of art? I would even throw in a a thumb tack to sweeten the deal?

Let me know

I don't think I have that bonsai tree for sale anywhere at the moment although I wouldnt say it's retired because I might place it out for sale again at any time.
Your offer to throw in a thumb tack was ..generous but i'm sorry, i'm going to stand by my offer of one bonsai tree in exchange for the three pics :D

I say go for the bonsai tree.
It is quite a lovely bonsai tree...
But as for the thumbtack I offer my bestselling tip jar, which is for sale in my vendor at a retail price of $L150.
Tis just a single user, owner based tip jar.
What do you think?

Well if it comes to it, I'll be seriously interested in acquiring that Bonsai Tree... My shop has a small japanese garden as a talking point and it'd fit nicely...

I'll offer a complete set of Illumina Rings (engagement, wedding, eternity, engagement and wedding, and all three together) - They're shiny and lightsourced rather than bling... and retail for $L350 the set.

I'll also throw in the Trinity drop earrings and pendant (which work the same way) and retail for $L200...

Apologies for the slight graininess of the images... they lost a little in translation to a web-friendly file... but you'll get the idea...!

Its been a hectic weekend for me but i have finally been able to update this thread.

I traded the 3 pictures to Pandora for the Bonsai Tree which is rather cute and I traded the Thumb tac to Lankarion Lock for his Tip jar.

I have these items im my shop if you want to view them in person
http://slurl.com/secondlife/Cassiar/59/159/677/

I looked at Kallisti's offer, and although its generous offer, I think I like the Bonsai Tree better.

So I am looking for new offers. I have both the Bonsai Tree and The tip jar for trade. I will trade for almost anything that has a greater value then these two items. I am willing to trade both items together or seperately. Please post an offer or im me in game with what you have to trade.

This is not quite true though - he was offered the house by a town committee because of the publicity his trading had attracted by that time. Most of the value that he gained by trading was in the publicity, not the actual items he traded for.

From the article posted on page 1:

From: someone
[...]Kyle opted to trade an afternoon with rock star Alice Cooper for a snow globe. [...]

But his fans need not have worried. Hollywood director Corbin Bernsen collects snow globes and wanted it so much that he offered a paid, credited, speaking role in his next film Donna on Demand.

Finally, the town of Kipling - population 1,140 - decided they would like a resident to get the part, so offered to trade a 1920s house for the movie role.

So it was a trade really. And yes, very silly, but good on him. Kinda like the million dollar site. People get cross about things like these because they're so simple and silly, but they didn't think of it first :) It may all be down to publicity, but he's the one that thought of it, and came out of it with a house, so who won? :D *raises her glass to all the silly, creative people in the world*
