I need to subcontract an animator to make a specific but technically complex G-rated animation set for a client of mine. I need to have the animation and all associated scripting and primwork complete in two weeks time. I'll do the scripts and primwork, but I can't do the animations and the necessary adjustments to time the animations to the sound effects that we already have. So I need to hire an animator who is skilled and who works fast.
The client is replicating a real-life Ivy League University location, which has a school bell's pull-rope in a closet. The actual location of the bell rope is a somewhat restricted space, a narrow hallway with the closet at the end. When in use, the person ringing the bell has to pull the rope out of the closet at an angle, then pull the rope downward and allow it to move back up about ten times, before releasing the rope and allowing it to return to its vertical "at rest" position in the closet.
At a minimum, I need a single suitable loopable animation that would have the avatar manipulating the rope, such that their hand seems to remain in contact with a prim prop rope whose movements will be timed to the animation and to the existing sound files for the actual bell being rung. This single animation approach would be for a fixed number of rings of the bell. But I suspect the total time will exceed what can be done in a single animation file, so it may take more than one animation, triggered in sequence.
For a best-case scenario, I would need a "start action" animation for taking the rope in hand and doing the first ring, a loopable "ring bell" animation for a single pull and release cycle, and an animation for the "final pull" and releasing the rope, so the total number of pulls made can be variable, controlled by a script.
Do you feel up to this challenge? If so, please contact Ceera Murakami in-world via IM, or send me an e-mail at ceera@polyhedrongroup.com, and we can discuss the project and I can show you the actual site and provide the sound files to time it to. Payment for the service is negotiable, based on your standard rates and quality of the finished work. Needless to say, this is a one-off project that we realize will have little to no resale value for other applications, so payment will take that into account.
