Let me get this straight -- after a week of SL craziness, you want to add more to the load to falsely pump your traffic figures?

Get a money tree, much cheaper, although less traffic, but at least you are helping new players who may come back as customers some day.

Well I do know that renting bots can get really expensive, my neighbour was renting them, filling up the sim, I don't recall the exact amount but think it was something like L$3000 per day for 20k traffic. So besides the bad publicity bots can give you, you are going to have to be sure that the extra traffic is going to bring in some significant income.
In the end I had to AR my neighbour because no one could get into the sim and he refused to reduce the number of bots - LL got rid of half his bots.
