Hi,
I read the vending maching thread with some curiosity. I am looking for somethign that will combine textures on the fly.
My specific application is that I write poetry and would like to sell it in SL in prims. Along with each poem the customer would get to choose a graphic to go along with it. So maybe I have 20 poems and 10 pictures they can choose from to decorate the poem of their choice with. Currently the way i am doing things would require 400 textures to show all options (20 x 10) equals 20 poems each displayed with all 10 grapics. Then that number x 2 because i would want to display Sample across each on.
If a system could overlay on the fly (i would have a standard template, I could show the customer choose the poem they wanted first . . . displayed with a transparent texture with the word "Sample" over it . . and then independently of the poem the customer could scroll thru the graphics to choice the one they wanted. When they were happy, the final texture would be constructed with the correct poem and picture and minus the "Sample". Doing this would require 31 total textures instead of the 400 . . . once for the text of each poem (20), one for each graphic (10), one for the word "Sample".
I expect the answer to be "No", but has anyone heard of such a system?
