Hello,
I'm looking for a Powerpoint viewer that I can upload a PPT to and present via viewer's screen in SL. Want it relatively larger than an avatar.
Thanks, Eric

I don't think you will find this. SL has limited graphics upload capability: Targa's, JPG's, & BMP's only (if I remember right). Powerpoint is not supported. Nor is Excel, Word, or any of the other MS Office products.
You could simulate a Powerpoint presentation by uploading the graphics in one of the aforementioned formats, and using a slide show script (these already exist in world... many freebie TV's use this). You might want to mod a freebie TV (they are usually full perm) into something that looks like a notebook PC or an overhead projector, and drop your graphics into it. The only catch is that you would need to save your powerpoint screens as a graphic image, so you can upload them. And remember, it's 10L per upload.

Far better to use powerpoint to quicktime and then parcel settings.
Education Island (does it still exist?) may have what you need.

You could just upload your powerpoint presentations, converted to say jpg's onto any internet hosting service that you can gain access to the urls.. then using a media player, load the urls into the playlist and use the 'next, previous' functions to swap the textures. Or, by using a timer function (available in some media players, of which I know quite a few), set each image to show for a set time. Using a media player has two main advantages. Uploading the pictures into SL and using a script texture changer is relying solely on the SL servers to unicast the 'texture' to each viewer and is reliant on the connection speeds between the SL asseset server (unpredicatable and slow) and the viewers, using the media pipelines that allow media (including jpgs etc) will deliver and rez those 'textures' much quicker. Script controllers ingame are slow to respond, especially texture swaping scripts, media scripts are a little quicker in broadcasting its data. If you load the converted pictures into folders on the host server that have named meanings (slideshow_10thAugust2007), and simply put them in a named format of slide1.jpg, slide2.jpg etc, to change the presentation slideshow in the media player playlist, you only have to change the folder name element. IM me ingame and I'll show you 3 such systems.
