Okay I need this as a script, and I'm wondering if it is possible.
EDITEDIT: Alternatively, I would like something that could teleport me, play animation on teleport, and rez an animated texture prim on the ground. This would be 10x easier and probably cheaper...?

I've seen something that must be like what you are after...the demon avatars at Grendel's Children have a custom teleport out routine...a coffin appears, opens, flame comes out, your demon av dives in, coffin shuts, disappears...
