Hello!
Pre-firstly...do you have Photoshop? If not, get it. If you don't want to invest a bunch of money on Photoshop...you can get GIMP for free. You'll need some form of graphic application if you plan on taking photos, manipulating in post, and adding text. Next, you'll want to search for some kind of photo studio thing--you can find certain ones that will allow you to scroll through preset backgrounds... However, that is very limited. My advice to you is to just set up a green screen situation (three sides works best), and make sure your green screen prims are full-bright. Then, find a public domain image of a background you want--or take one yourself. Save it to your project file on your hardrive. Then you will set up the shot (you can find free pose stands all over SL)--take the shot with the model on the green screen. If you are using a PC, hit the Print Screen button once you've lined up the photo. Open Photoshop, and paste this screen grab into a new image. Next, highlight with your magic want the green color...and delete it. Then SELECT>Inverse...then copy paste your model into your background image and tweak from there. You don't need to buy preset photo studios...you can do the work yourself. And if you are looking for very detailed, realistic photography gear for your studio or on location--cameras, lights, softboxes, reflector umbrellas...swing by my studio Glowbox Designs to have a look see. Good luck. IM in world if this was all confusing, or you need further help. ps. God that's horribly written, all of it. The step by step is bad. I'm sorry. _____________________

It's also a good idea to make yourself a small collection of light prims in a few colors and intensity settings to save time. You can rez them in and out until the picture is perfectly staged. If you have time, edit them and make more adjustments... But, really, I'm finding there are a few preferred settings that I keep going back to so I've named them and kept copies. (^_^)
And a "look at me" prim... I've done it the hard way a few times, but I'm going to script it tonight. One little prim to place in 'camera' position so that your subject can [alt]+click on and give their eyes something to focus on. Once they've done that, set the texture to a full alpha and take your pic. It really helps with head and eye position... These avatars have really short attention spans without it. (<_< ![]() ![]() Hopefully you know about "High Resolution Snapshots" in the Advanced menu. Taking a pic with that setting turned on brings the pixel count way up over your screen resolution which make touchups and editing easier and cleaner. Also they look so much smoother when scaled back down for uploading and give you more freedom when framing your shot since you can pull the camera back a little farther and give yourself a wider crop range. (^_^)y The look at me prim is a great idea. Personally, I get the AV to look a specific way, and then I use the manual camera controls to set up the shot. This seems to work. But your scripted tool would be great. _____________________
