Hi all... Been looking and am yet to find a swimsuit or bikini that isn't limited to the underwear layer...

Like a lot of folks out there, I have a tattoo that sits on the undershirt layer - and it's more or less my trademark - the only thing that I've not removed (if I can at all avoid it) in the 9 months that I've been on SL... As such at times when it should be most promenent (when I'm wearing the least) it goes AWOL because I'd rather not go topless - as all my swimwear is on the same layer.

I've remade the tatt to sit on the shirt layer - but it overlaps straps etc, and looks plain wrong. I'm sure it isn't just me who has to put up with this... so I guess what I'm asking is can anyone point me in the direction of a jacket layer bikini, or would a maker of one be prepared to adapt an existing product for me for a modest reembursement?

Only caveat here is that I'm a bit of a prude... and as such, strings are right out...

i have a few bikini's and swimsuits at my store - any of which i am happy to do for you on whatever layer you require

just take a look at the store and send me a notecard with the name of the item. - some are already on shirt and pant layer i believe but feel free to ask for what u want

tps are in my classifieds on profile in game but i'll send u a landmark as soon as i get in lol

Macabea Gao makes some nice ones that come packaged on both the underwear and shirt/pant layers. Her shop is named TopLess, but that's not descriptive...they do all have tops.

this suggests a major enhancement request...

Instead of skin/undershirt/shirt/jacket etc, the layers should be named layer 0, 1, 2, 3 etc.

Then, ther shuld be an option to switch the layer of an item. If you have a bra on layer 1, and you want to wear it over your shirt, all you have to do is convert it to layer 4.

Another possibility would be for clothing makers to include a couple of varieties...buy a shirt, and get the layers 1, 2, and 3 version.

I have no idea how hard this would be to implement, but who knows...

Just providing the item in multiple forms: jacket/shirt/under, or pants/under should fix the problem for most customers. Most clothiers simply don't. I walk away from countless products that I'd love to buy, but are in a form I don't want, for the exact reason that the O.P. describes. Brava to Kallisti for having 100 times more patience than I do!

I've said this before and I'll say it again: I'm surprised at how hard it is to throw money at people sometimes.

I have some bikinis from Artilleri that come on multiple layers... I think that Little Rebel also does that, although I'm not in world to check at the moment.

Looks like I could be standing a fair bit on upgrading my swimwear!

Swaffette... I believe I already have one of yours... but I'll send you the notecard as requested as I'm still definitely after a top on the jacket layer rather than the shirt.

Avion... Likewise... Have to say that if I ever start marketing clothing, I'll sell on all three layers by default... I've certainly been put off plenty by limited layer options.

Ilianexsi... How could I overlook Artilleri? What's WRONG with me? *ahem* Will try Little Rebel as well... can't hurt!
