I joined Second Life specifically for Star Trek role-play. I decided to create an male Orion character, an alien species that look just like humans only with green skin.

Originally, I just tinted the default SL skin with a green hue and left it at that - but after playing for a few days and seeing all the amazing skins available out there, I decided to go shopping for an attractive male skin of a particular shade of green.

Unfortunately, I have come up short. For those of you familiar with Star Trek, the shade of green I am looking for is from the “new” Orions that appeared in the Enterprise series, not the jade-green from The Original Series.

If anyone knows of places that sell green male skins, please let me know!

Additionally, I would love to have a custom skin made, but some of the prices if have seen for this service are outside my budget. Therefore, I was wondering if there were any skin makers out there that willing to re-tint a male skin they have already created and give me a nice break on the custom pricing :)

I am attaching some pictures to this post that show the color I want, not the look. I want the character to look like a young, attractive adult male with strong black eye brows.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give:)

EDIT: Just a quick addendum: I am not a huge fan of photo-realistic skins, I have noticed that drawn/painted skins give a smoother appearance and seem blend better over the polygons. However, if I find one I love, I don’t care if it’s photo-sourced.

Your best bet is to find a skin merchant whose work you like and request a custom job very specifcally as "a color overlay or hue shift to this skin" both of those operations are quite easy to perform in photoshop. I would also recommend offering three times their list price for the skin that you want modified and tell them that you aren't requesting an "exclusive use" of the skin.

You may find that putting your request into a notecard and sending it and an IM to the merchant pointing them at the notecard helpful because IMs can sometimes overflow for busy merchants.

Does this seem overly generous to the merchant? Yep, but you obviously desire the work strongly and money is said to be the most sincere form of flattery. Good luck.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

If it helps, this is the female version of the Nomine Aether skin I mentioned, in Shamrock.
