Proximity gifter based on rezday month

Hello scripters,

I'm in search of a gifter script which will:

* when avatars come within a specified proximity,
* detect the MONTH of their rezday, and
* offer a gift (give inventory from the gifter object) if the avatar's rezday is within a matching rezday month (in this particular usage, I'd want September)

* extra credit for the script to be able to be adjusted for any particular range of rezdays

Wouldn't this be better posted in "Products Wanted" than in "Scripting Tips?"

Sorry if that seems mean, but I've seen a lot of "I don't know anything about scripting, and I'm not interested in learning, I just want this and this and this and this for free please" posts lately. The "Scripting Tips" forum is for asking for "help" making scripts. Not for asking for people to make scripts for you.

If you're interested in learning to write a script, I'm sure we'd all be willing to help with any parts you don't understand.

thanks Winter =) must've been late by you.. I think this is Product Wanted (SL Forums > Resident Forums > Classifieds > Products Wanted > Proximity gifter based on rezday month) You're right though, Scripting Tips would not have been the right place for this.

Yeah, I THINK it was originally posted to Scripting Tips.. if so, one of the stealth-mods seems to have moved it without commenting. I dunno.. I suppose it might already have been here and I just totally spaced on it, THINKING it was in Scripting tips.. it's hard to tell when the mods don't comment when they move things. It doesn't really matter either way at this point. It's *IN* the right place now..

If I weren't up to my eyes in a project right now, I'd definitely consider taking the project on, it really does look simple (and frankly it seems like a great script to learn on.. you SHOULD give it a try!). I hope you can see that I didn't intend any rudeness or malice.
