I've spent hours browsing and searching the libraries and forums this weekend, as well as SLExchange and in world, and I've decided that what I want to add to a recent project is probably out there, but in someone's private stash of scripts because I'm not finding it. What I'm looking for is a script for trap door (to be put in the root prim of a linked floor section) that either opens when someone walks on it and closes back up again after they drop, or for a trap door that goes phantom when only when someone walks on it. While I've seen some scripts and products that seem to be close to this, the feature I can't seem to find is that I need it to NOT trap a defined group or groups, and possibly also those on a notecard list. Script must be "clean"  no active listen commands if possible?) to suit heavy-lag RPG SIM environment. Please contact me in world if interested - include price estimate too please. If I can find the right person, I could have some additional work as well, scripting some other ideas for boobytraps and that sort of unconventional land security that might be fun to bring to life. Heck, I have enough ideas I could inspire a complete new line of commercial RPG goodies for some bored scripter - and I could probably guide you to an enthusiastic market that wants to buy them.

Try the 'Timeless Linked Door" script

That is a free full permed script that I used a few times, You might be able to comment out the open/close commands in the script, but leave the set up commands intact, it even has a spot in it for a collision trigger. All of its instructions are in the script itself. That script is in wide use so ask around, if you can't find one from people in most places, there are people at NCI Kuula who have copies.

I'm sending you a trapdoor that exempts people placed on a list in the script.
It would also be possible to exempt based on active group, I think. Maybe only if the trapdoor is owned by said group though.

there is tho not limited. the Domino script from the free domino example in the Library Inventory.
if placed correctly over a hole and some walks on it. it will drop with a sound and then after a few seconds it will reset

BoobyTrap/TrapDoor Script(s) Needed No More

Just wanted to offer an update, since it seems that this post is still getting a few hits. I ended up having a custom script created for me by DisQ Hern. Amazingly nice fellow, and an AWESOME scripter (he also wrote that really neat texture HUD that Textures R Us offers as their "freebie" in their superstore). If anyone needs any help with custom scripts, I recommend him highly - he was very sweet, amazingly fast, and highly precise! Oh, and by the way? If anyone else wants or needs a highly customizable trap door script, he's got one - and its goooood!  You rock, DisQ!  Thanks for your help, everyone!

I think you were the one who I was talking to about that trapdoor script, I ended up getting it finished then could not remember who it was for  I have such a bad memory, sorry hon, I did not forget the script, just forgot who it was for, and was waiting for them (you) to get back to me  I am happy though that you got one that works for you
