Second Life doesn't actually allow animators to move the face: instead, they have a number of fixed expressions which an animator can choose to include in an animation (at upload time), or which a scripter or gesture maker can trigger.

What I would recommend for you is that you try making a gesture. You make a new gesture by going to your Inventory, selecting Create, then selecting Gesture.

This will open a gesture creation panel (editing a modifiable gesture brings up the same panel: right click and select open).

Add an animation. Try Big Smile, or Open Mouth. Add a half second or so wait. Add a closed-mouth animation. Add another wait. Add the open-mouthed animation again. Repeat. See how it looks.

You're going to have to use a gesture like this, or an equivalent script, to mimic talking. If you don't know scripting, the gesture is going to be easiest to do.

If you use the in game voice there is an option under the Advanced menu (Ctrl-Alt-D to bring the advanced menu up) that makes your mouth move while talking in world... pretty amusing to watch though it is probably not what your looking for :)

The setting is Advanced>Character>Enable Lip Sync (Beta)

Good Luck!
