Women's Duster wanted

I've been looking everywhere in SL with no success for a duster (a long jacket) styled for a woman. Found some trench coats (cool, but not quite right) and some western-styled men's dusters, but nothing for a woman.

Any clothing crafters out there interested?

What they are calling a "duster" is really a long buttonless vest or sleeveless jacket. In your appearance editor, make yourself a new long jacket, with the sleeves shortened, front open. Problem with this is that the jacket back is snug to your buttocks.

Another route, which makes a longer vest that is not clinging to your thighs, is to make a jacket/skirt combo, shortening the jacket enough to barely overlap the skirt and lining up the open jacket front with the open skirt front.

Super easy for solid colors!

Nefertiti, I actually went the first route and have a jacket as you describe, but the leg-split that happens when viewed from the back is unappealing. I'd rather have the look of a long coat (mid-thigh) from the back. When the grid comes back online I'll give a shot at your jacket/skirt combo. That may prove a workable alternative.

I'd still like a bit of "flow" to the item, so I'd imagine the "designer made" route will ultimately be the way to go.

Hi Edna! If you haven't already checked DE Designs, DoC Eldritch had made one awhile back in both black and brown that may suit your needs. I think it is listed as a trench but worth a look.

Bewitched & ShadowWiccan Designs has the Cloak & Dagger series for 450L in various colors... Package includes leather trench (jacket/skirt combo), pants, half-belt and a dagger. It's displayed upstairs in the men's section, but it is a unisex outfit. I have this one, its pretty nice.

Barerose has a couple of options. I don't own them, but Barerose quality rarely disappoints me. One is called Victorian Maiden for 110L. The package contains the two-piece jacket (shirt/skirt combo) in three different color selections (purple w/lavender lace trim, black w/white lace trim, and brown w/beige lace trim). The set also includes a pair of white pants and two styles of undershirts. There used to be one simply called Long Coat, but I couldn't find it on my last trip there. Maybe the sales staff could locate it for you.

Also at Barerose off to the side near their 10L store is another newbie shop. I got a dark red one with silver embroidery and black trim there for about 20L. It's also a 2 piece (jacket/skirt combo). It was available in other colors as well. The quality was actually pretty good considering the low cost.
