I may be grasping at straws, here. Sorcha has recently furnished a beautiful greenhouse/retreat for us. It's in a gorgeous prefab ( https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=1351499 ). She's made great use of the vertical space with trees and a tall water feature. There are plants, fountains, windchimes... just gorgeous. It struck me this weekend while I was there with friends that it needed one more thing to make it perfect - birds (or maybe butterflies) flitting about to make use of the tall open space in the center of the building. We can probably make do with a bird on a llTargetOmega system, or an emitter that sends out bird or butterfly particles, but I seem to recall seeing fish or animals that can be set to wander randomly around a pre-determined area, or confined within a set of walls. I'm not even sure of the exact word for what I'm looking for... can anyone help me out here?

Second Wildlife (now known as Aeryglow Wildlife, in a sim of the same name) has animals that roam outdoors. You can set their radius, and they wander randomly within it, appearing to actually follow the terraforming (harder than you would think for a bunch of prims!). They are the source of the very popular squirrels and rabbits you see around.
I think they had some seabirds as well, though that may have been their Fish affiliate.
Indoors, many folks have the popular (I think Damania?) cats.
Can't some Zooby animals also be set to wander? They have a LOT of species. I think they have birds as well; don't know whether they just fly in circles, or what. I think that is where I saw a sculptie butterfly emitter. .

I should have done an XStreet search before I asked - I came up with very little using 'wanderer,' which was what I thought I remembered the things I saw being called - but a search for 'bird' turned up a lot! I found not only wandering birds, but butterflies, dragonflies, and wildlife at LOLO and there was another place that looks like its birds operate inside a bounding box - very promising! (I can't remember the business, but added their bird to my XStreet favorites to check out later) I was eaten by a shark checking out LOLO in-world, but it was my own fault... I didn't HAVE to click 'sit'! Our club's resident cats are Damani - I also should have thought to see if they do birds. And I will definitely check out both Aeryglow and Zooby.

Thanks, Sylvia! I didn't catch that on my first run through XStreet, but have added it to my favorites so I can try to remember to visit your store in-world. Much appreciated!

Assuming the area is a regular shape, it shouldn't be too difficult to script something that moves randomly within it but stays within bounds. The challenge would be how to stop it from trying to move inside objects that are already there.
