One thing that I have found to be quite common in RL, that I have yet to see in SL, are mirrors, or any highly reflective object. Is it possible to create an object that will realistically show on a single face what is in front of it as a mirror does?

Hi George
far as I know (although I am sure if anyone knows differently they will correct me) the simple answer is no. Have seen this question asked before and I know then the answer was no, but there may have been some developments since then. The closest I have seen is a mirror that shows the profile picture of the nearest avi to it. Anyone else know any more ? Rhia xx _____________________

At one point dynamic reflections were added, and were good but a big fps hit (I vaguely remember). Atm you can still enable dynamic reflections (I think) but they are not as good as they were. Search snapzilla for "mirror" and you'll undoubtedly see some old pix as we were all enamored of relections.
If there's been any changes I've forgotten or am unaware of someone speak up. Back in the day: http://www.sluniverse.com/pics/pic.aspx?id=137042&sort=Pictures.PictureID+desc&Search=reflections _____________________

I saw a mirror at a store I was at the other day. It had one of those balls where you sat, and then You saw yourself from the mirror. It wasn't like a mirror mirror, it changed the focus of and direction of the camera I think, so probably not what you meant.

If you don't mind it snatching all the resources on your computer, you could probably make a mirror that takes video captures and streams them. Would probably be hard to make it look more like a mirror than a video camera display at a tv store though.
