Hey Folks,
I'm researching an article for a blog on "Second Life from a Business Perspective" on "What to wear". Most business meetings I see in Second Life are full of "John" and "Jane" avatars. This fills their need of quick-in-and-out and being "business appropriate". But it really isn't the way to make an impression. :-)
So, can anyone reccomend shops that sell Avatars, clothing, skins, etc, that might appeal to moderately conservative business types? I'd like to give actual links to shops instead of just talking about it in my article.
Cheers,

Many clothing designers have broken into businesswear lately even if it is not their "usual" style. Check out OPIUM by Alaska Metropolitan, First Impressions by Pukk Abel, Shiryu Musashi's "Revolution" suits for men and women at Musashi-Do, Roslin Petion of Tete a Pied; and you can find some businesswear gems at Pixel Dolls by Nephilaine Protagonist, Mischief by Janie Marlowe, Nyte N' Day by Nyte Caligari and DoC Eldritch of DE Designs (his Chanel line for ladies especially). Oh and don't forget the Spring Collection recently released from Paper Couture, Sol Columbia of Luminosity and Blaze Columbia of Blaze! LOTS!! :-)

Another recommendation is to check out the archives of some of the fashion blogs such as Second Style http://blog.secondstyle.com/ and Linden Lifestyles http://www.lindenlifestyles.com as both have covered many businesswear items.

For shoes and/or accessories, check out Fallingwater Celladoor's Shiny Things and Lucas Lameth's Earthtone Boutique.

For skins, again Tete a Pied, they offer some classic, soft makeups that would be great for the look you are have in mind.

There's plenty more great businesswear out there but I am just going off the top of my head rather quickly.
