I am looking for recommendations for shops with period clothing (and fantasy clothing inspired by particular timeperiods) for women as well as men, in particular Medieval, Renaissance and 16-18th century clothing.
So far, I've picked up Miriel Enfield's lovely 'Elaine' gown and found some promising pieces at Stonekeep, De Fleur, Milady's Fancy and Adam n Eve, but I'd love to check out some more places before deciding on what else to buy.
I am also wondering if anyone knows of any shops with Middle Eastern-style clothing that is more along the lines of a fanciful 'Arabian Nights' take rather than realistic. Not belly-dancing outfits, but dresses and robes.

Thank you, saw some nice things in both those places. On the same topic, anyone know of any designers that do hairstyles that suit period clothing? A lot of the long hairstyles for women that I have seen come across as too modern (I'd prefer to avoid bangs, other than some wisps, and anything that is too big and poufy) and 'sexy' rather than 'romantic'. And for men, well, other than wild barbarian manes, I haven't seen much longer (past the shoulders) hair for men, so suggestions would be very welcome.

Don't quite remember all the places I looked at, but a few that I found through SL Exchange were these: http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=60711http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=60614His store is here: secondlife://Tridens/102/236 Edited to add: Found who else we looked at too; Calico Creations. They've got some longish and somewhat rougher-looking styles, both loose and in ponytails.

Shameless plug to follow. I have one Renaissance style in addition to my Victorian dresses at Drusilla's Delight. I've included a pic of the green but it comes in others as well. http://slurl.com/secondlife/Caledon%20VictoriaCity/127/196/22There is an updo at DG Innovations without bangs and a circular braid around the back that works well for Renaissance also. Also, if you'd like to be a peasant. you can pick up the freebie I made for Renaissance Island by the telehub.

Ooh, very nice gown. Is it wearable both with and without the white lace, btw?

I've done a few dresses and male outfits of a fantasy nature, well more 16-17th century than fantasy though I am working on it. You can find these at Isle of Faerun, sorry no link thingy, I'm not playing at the moment. Just do a search for faerun or look me up and look in my picks. I also do requests.

Check out Taliah Talamasca's shop, she also has hair styles that are appropriate.
