I saw in a skybox that had a floor texture with shadow on it from the window.. I was wondering where I can find textures like that, that does some shadow on the floor.. I tried textures R Us but can't find it there..

Im not sure what you saw but i have made prims look as if the sun was shining thru a window. Just a square box prim set on an angle with a blank texture and then set the transparency to 70-80%. You can make them phantom too but they cant be linked to the skybox or else you would fall thru the floor cuz linking a phantom makes everything else in the link set phantom. If your in the sky wear your parachute for safety. i have also seen textures of shadows and the effect is outstanding. But the texture would need to be made with the shadow making objsec in mind. Contact me inword in a couple of hours (after 5pm SL time) and I can show you some tree shadows.

Hi Ecks. If you don't make textures yourself, Lauren Fox has a L$200 set of shadow textures at various transparencies in her shop. Right now it is very prominent as you walk in. Just put these on prims and make the shapes you need.

As the previous poster mentioned, the more prim-efficient way to do this is to bake the shadow in directly when the floor texture is made. I've never seen these for sale. One homebuilder who has some lovely floors with dramatic shadows is Donk Kongo (let me know if you want the LM), but he does not sell textures. Even tho the shadows never change position, they do change look as lighting changes, and they are surprisingly effective.

Good luck!

Hey,
I work for a SL startup, Neptune Lighting, which does rendered light mapping for architecture. We're still working on our demo, but contact me in game and we can talk. Everything we do is custom, so it has to be baked with the particular arrangement of the room etc, but we handle all the scene acquisition and technical artist tasks, basically we give you a custom set of textures to put on your building.

Send me an IM or something if you are interested and I'll give you some more info about what we can do and also give you a quote.

Tor.
